Class: 039G Number of hulls built: 12 Visit: Fleet 314 & 324 have visited Hong Kong Displacement: 2,250 tons (underwater) Length: 74.9m Beam: 8.4m Speed: 15knots surface, 22knots underwater Range: 3,300knots at 4knots YJ-82 Anti-ship Missiles 6 x Torpedo Launchers Incident: On Thursday, 26 October 2006, a 039G submarine is said to have "popped up" and "surfaced within firing range of its torpedoes and missiles before being detected" within 5 nautical miles (9 km) of the carrier USS Kitty Hawk while she was operating in the Pacific Ocean.
